Do you suffer from pain?

You are not alone. It is estimated that more than 3 million Australians suffer from chronic pain and many more from intermittent or acute episodes of pain. Less commonly discussed is how pain affects your daily life. How pain affects your moods, how pain drains energy and how the lack of sleep or lack of mobility can get you down.

Pain is a hidden problem

Pain can be debilitating both physically and emotionally yet it is also a hidden problem. It is not visible to others and many people are left to suffer in silence. Living with pain wears you down and often leads to less resistance to life’s ups and downs and increased emotional and financial stress.

What happens in a pain relief treatment?

Our therapists at Maitland Wellness Centre starts every consultation by listening to your experience of pain. Every person is different, and the same treatment does not suit everyone. By listening to how pain affects your physical wellbeing and your particular pain pattern, as well as the impact it has on your quality of life the therapist will formulate a treatment plan unique to your situation. They will draw on their training in both modern medicne as well as the long and rich clinical experience of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The therapist will discuss with you the expected outcome of the treatments. This includes the number and frequency of treatments as well as set times for evaluation of progress to make sure that you get the best possible results from the treatments. If you should not be getting the expected result we will discontinue the treatments and refer or make suggestions on how you may find help through other health modalities.
