Cupping

Glass or Pyrex cups are applied using a suction method to soft tissue areas such as the back, shoulders and neck. This is generally used in conjunction with acupuncture or massage therapy.

Benefits of cupping

The suction created by the cup helps to stretch and release tight muscles and fascia, and increase blood circulation and blood supply to the affected area to remove restrictions of flow created by chronic inflammation of connective tissues.

Cupping is well known for leaving bruise like marks on the body. These marks typically only last for a few days and are not painful.
