Facial Enhancement

Facial enhancement acupuncture is a holistic treatment that uses traditional and modern acupuncture techniques. The treatments are designed for the individual; it involves no injections or surgery and is suitable for all skin types. Unlike other aesthetic treatments there are no long lasting adverse reactions and it does not compromise facial mobility. Treatment schedule and number of treatments will be dependent upon the individual.

Please note Facial Enhancement acupuncture appointments cannot be booked online.

It is important that you first discuss your treatment options with Michelle Brodie prior to booking your appointment to ensure it is suitable for you.  Michelle can be contacted on 4934 2233.

How many treatments will i need?

Facial acupuncture treatments work with the body’s ability to create collagen and repair tissue. Depending on age, it takes 28 days for new collagen production and a course of treatments of 6-10 is recommended to achieve the desired effect.

The treatments are tailored for the individual and it is important to discuss your expectations with Michelle before commencement.

What does a facial enhancement treatment entail?

First treatment: 1.5 hours consisting of an acupuncture treatment on the back to clear potential internally generated Qi blockages to your treatments, and then a short facial and body acupuncture treatment with LED light therapy, facial cupping and gua sha.

Subsequent treatments: 1.5 hours involving facial and body points, facial cupping and facial gua sha, LED light therapy, possibly moxibustion on the body if appropriate.

How long does it take?

Treatments take 90 minutes.  The initial consultation (if you have not had acupuncture before) will involve discussion on the areas of your face and body that you would like to make changes to and any factors that may affect your ability to have the treatments and potential success of your treatments.

Can anyone get treatment?

Generally speaking most people can receive cosmetic acupuncture treatment. Pregnant women, women wishing to conceive or people experiencing severe headaches, migraines or dizziness are advised to consult the practitioner before beginning treatment.

Allergies to skin products: such as Argan oil, Arnica gel, Hyaluronic Acid or Kiwi Seed oil.

Are there any side effects?

There is very little down time. Occasionally there is a slight risk of bruising at the insertion site. It is best to avoid sun exposure that day and keep well hydrated.
